A two-time Cannes Lions jury President, D&AD, One Show, Clio and LIA Awards jury President, AdAge magazine recognised Malcolm as one of the "World's Top 10 Digital minds" while TechCity Insider named Malcolm as one of the UK's leading Digital Innovators. His international industry accolades number more than 700, including Cannes Lions for Film, Print, Media, Outdoor, Cyber, Glass and Mobile.
Prior to joining Cheil, Malcolm was European Chief Creative Officer and member of Sapient's global leadership team where he helped build the company to exceed a billion dollars in revenue, twice putting Sapient amongst Fortune Magazine's 40 fastest growing companies in the world. M&CSaatchi, Saatchi&Saatchi, Ogilvy and SapientNitro have all won Agency of the Year titles during his creative leadership.
Since joining Cheil in 2014 as the network's first Global Chief Creative Officer, Malcolm has steered Cheil Worldwide to rank No1 Independent Global Network (WARC). A journey that included securing Cheil’s first Glass Lion at Cannes, first Grands Prix at Clio, Clio Sport, Clio Health, Clio Super Bowl and One Show; their first Innovation award at AdFest, Grands Prix at El Sol Awards, El Ojo, Dubai Lynx, Leories and One Show Asia; collecting their first WEBBY awards, Effie Grand Prix and creating the most-viewed Ad on YouTube.
During this time, Cheil posted record new-business success with Samsung and landed global accounts including Etihad Airways, Adidas, PZ Cussons, Abbot, VW China and UN Women, with revenue growing from USD $500m to USD $3.6Bn.
A Kiwi, Malcolm is a former member of the NZ Yachting Team, recognised by KEA as a ‘World Class New Zealander’, is a former board member of the UK's Institute of Contemporary Art, Patron of the Royal Academy of Arts and C.A.L.M. Malcolm is a member of the Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and Trustee Board member of D&AD.
Malcolm lives in London with his Australian wife and English daughter.
